I am glad I didn't do this column last week the situation was horrible, matter of fact I had one of my lowest scoring weeks in a long time. I lost 105-24, In a auction league. This league my first auction league and I have pretty much given up on it. I am 1-5 and I have LT and Randy Moss with good players surrounding them, what a let down. This week everyone was a let down Joseph Addai & Tony Romo hurt, and If that were not enough Fred Taylor took a hellacious helmet to helmet hit and yup you guessed it, broke. There is however good news for all these breaks. Addai has a great backup by the name of Dominic Rhodes. Definite pickup this week as he is going against a not so great Green Bay run D. Fred Taylor has Mojo "the juice" Drew who when Taylor went out, went off. Romo's backup isn't a rookie but is a old rusty veteran you know the kind of rusty that makes a squeak when you try to close an old rusty door. The good thing about it is that he has a plethora of receivers to throw to. Which looks like the 2007 Patriots. He has the 2 deep men, Owens (moss) and Williams (stallworth) and the slot man Crayton (welker). Yes when Romo returns it will seem so that "It's begging to look a lot like Christmas" down there in Texas. Jerry Jones spared no expense on his Cowboys this year. Pacman Jones and now Roy Williams. Sorry Tony you may have a hard time affording Ms. Simpson that big rock this year, because Roy Williams just took your Christmas bonus. You figure he would have learned what she was capable of after he looked at Nick Lachey's music career after they got married. Anyways on with this weeks TORTURE!
Start
Brett Favre : Maybe not the 6 TD week we saw last time, but definitley a great game against a Raiders defense that is lazy against the pass.
Matt Forte : Not only a great rusher, but also a target for Orton down field. Forte has also become the leading receiver for the bears. He is playing the Vikings this week so a lot of people will be counting him out. However once he gets past that front line whether by the pass or the run, he will break loose in the porous secondary.
Torry Holt : If you haven't heard the news Pacman "don't call me Pacman" Jones is out, not to mention Terrance Newman is still banged up. Holt will be matching up against rookies, huge mismatch.
Ryan Grant : I am giving him one more chance this week against a soft Colts run defense, I suggest you do the same. He has got more carries and more yards the past couple of weeks time to prove your 2007 fantasy HOF status Mr Grant.
Chris Johnson and Lendale White : Playing the Chiefs and I shouldn't have to say any more but I will, Johnson is tied for receptions on the team so what he doesn't do running the ball he makes up for catching it.
Sit
J.T. O'Sullivan - He is going to be on his back a lot this week, The Giants are a sack machine and his front line can't hold back a small wind gust.
KC running back- Something tells me it will be Jamaal Charles, still this is a horrible matchup Tennessee has allowed 1 good rusher this season(Slaton), and KC has a weaker offensive line.
All Day Peterson - Doesn't look good the past few weeks and this is a good run Defense this year with the Bears. May be on his back or going backwards "all day."
Carolina Running Backs- The Saints held back "All Day" and not to mention, held down the likes of the Fargas/Mcfadden show. I think this game will be no different sit Williams and Stewart.
Terrell Owens, Roy Williams, and Patrick Crayton- New QB new offense, I don't believe in the Cowboys without Tony Romo back there and if he plays with the broken finger I don't believe in that either, I also don't believe in Brad Johnson. They will be wonderful when Romo is healthy. ***Buy lows on Owens and Williams until the return, Buy low on Romo as well.*** ---I think Crayton can be tossed to waivers. Very doubtful he has a good game from this point forward. ---
Pickups :
Dominic Rhodes - See intro
Matt Schaub - Lot of drops, Ive seen him available in a lot of leagues, check for him and grab him if you can if you just lost Romo.
Derek Anderson - Same with Schaub a lot of people have dropped due to poor preformance, but that makes no difference after what he did Monday night.
Greg Camarillo - Looks to be Pennington's favorite target in Miami, not owned at all. After the showing last week and the showing I am expecting this week that will not last, grab him if you can.
Kevin Walter - So underrated he sits opposite Andre Johnson and is a great reciever. All those times when they double cover Johnson he has a big game. Why haven't you got him on the bench already??
Put in an extra Qb because of Romo and an extra WR because any TE on your waiver list is probably the same as far as upside no sense on listing them, Same on the D/ST as week 5 the Saints if they can stop the pass are a great plug and play. Look what they did to Oakland. I will admit they may have a hard time pushing Delhomme to throw an Int but if you are hurting for a Defense why not, I mean they do have Reggie Bush returning kicks.
Best of Luck this week, let us pray that another player doesn't go out to injury or my pickups will end up listing 15 players. As always enjoy your patrionage, Stay tuned to FFcollective for all your fantasy news and advice. Check back Tuesday for the results.
