Here are a few fantasy players who are rising and falling in
value. Of the guys rising I will name the ones whose recent success is
not a fluke, and will also name some who you shouldn’t expect the same production
from.
Everyone in fantasy football knows that rookies don't have much of a place in fantasy football. Receivers take up to three years to develop and very rarely make an impact in the 1st year. Quarterbacks are even worse in the 1st year. We have a few running backs that may do OK here or there, but not many have an impact for a whole year.
I turned on the TV Screen and had ESPN gamecast on the PC Watching the Titans vs Texans, I looked on the Score ticker on the bottom of the Screen and what do my wondering eyes did appear but a miniature PATRIOT TEAM LETTING THE DOLPHINS SCORE ALL OVER THEM. I panicked I thought surely to god Ricky Williams didn't get a streak of LT(who I was happy to see at least scored a TD) that's right kudos to all you Darren Sproles owners. I thought to myself Ricky Williams I predicted him to fail miserably this week. Oh my god what have I done. You wouldn't believe the excitement as I saw it was Ronnie Brown scoring all those touchdowns down there in Miami. What a sigh of relief, and in all honesty Brian Kelley you didn't get the raw end of the deal on your trade you got AP and Cutler for Peyton Manning and Ronnie Brown. Wow why don't people give me trade offers like that. I see why your hurting the Guy scored an unbelievable 33 points on ESPN standard scoring. I'm hurting too my brilliant self started the NE def and st Sunday. Go figure, -7 Points.
Wow, almost a month down and this is already shaping up to be one of the more unpredictable seasons in recent memory. That's a good thing, because it gives fantasy dorks like us tons of material to fill these fine pages with. And so, I will now pass on my thoughts on the smart plays and the potential duds for this upcoming week 4. Now, hopefully you don't need me to tell you to start a stud like Frank Gore or Jay Cutler, so I will concentrate on borderline players that may have you going crazy, trying desperately to make that last minute decision whether to bring 'em or bench 'em. Hopefully I can help you. If not, remember that this is a volatile game we play, so don't go blaming me when your co-workers seek an explanation for your morose demeanor following a Sunday pummeling. Just take it like a man.
Frank Gore- Did good 130 yards and 1 TD that is a TD in every game this season. Steve
Smith- I am going to call this a success for his first week back. He
did not find the end zone but 4 catches for 70 yards. That is a good
week to me he is a definitive deep threat down the field. Eli
Manning- 289 yards and 1 TD, I don't see any place this guy is not a
solid start this year. So he will probably not make this list again.
Like
countless other fantasy football players who thought they were making
the right choice benching or trading him, I was sorely dismayed to see
the game Ronnie Brown had last week against the Patriots. I let Ronnie
go before the season started, along with Kellen Winslow, Peyton, and
Patrick Crayton, in exchange for Jay Cutler, Todd Heap, Torry
Holt, and Adrian Peterson (the Minnesota one, naturally). I think
history will bear the trade out as one of the most dead-even in FF
history - as long as Brown can stop scoring five touchdowns a
game, for crying out loud.
Week 2 is in the books and we're getting ready for week 3. That means it’s time to take a look at some guys to play and some to sit. These are a few players that should excel and others to keep on the bench for week 3.
I, like many of you, was so excited about fantasy draft time this summer that I was already drafting teams the minute ESPN's leagues opened in mid-July. Then of course, I created a few more teams right before week 1. Yesterday, I drafted one more late joiner team. I couldn't help but think about how drastically things have changed since July, not only in terms of performance, but also who the STARTERS were at various positions. Seriously. We are just coming up on week 3, and already there have been an unusual number of shakeups around the league. So many of us are left to make desperate waiver pickups in search of our replacement for the Bradys and Tomlinsons in our lineups.
And so, in my ever-ongoing quest to keep all of you readers in the know, I present to you - The Backups! (Doesn't that sound like a goofy Disney sports movie title? I want royalties, sucka!)
